KINGSTON, December 21, 2005 - At the Blue Cross of Jamaica's Annual Staff Awards Dinner held last Thursday, Christopher Martin, winner of this year's Rising Stars competition, was presented with one of the company's premium health insurance policies.
“Blue Cross® offers a wide range of insurance products to cater to the needs and pockets of all Jamaicans,” said Prof. the Hon. Errol Morrison, President & CEO. “We are committed to our subscribers and providers, offering the best products and delivering the best service. Essentially, we are in the business of making your health our number one priority.”
“This is a prelude to the 50 th anniversary celebrations next year,” said Kari Alana Morrison, Public Relations Executive, Blue Cross®. “So many Jamaicans are self employed like Christopher Martin, or are in-between jobs, and it is vital that health insurance be available to all. We have offered him a comprehensive individual health plan, Executive Blue , which offers a wide range of health care insurance benefits, and provides coverage even while overseas.”
“I am excited to be back on Blue Cross,” said Martin. “I was on my mother's family plan but that expires this month. Blue Cross has stepped in right on time. I have benefited all my life from their coverage and it is great that now that I am grown, I will still be able to access the many benefits of having a multi-national insurance company literally covering my back,” said the rising star.
In 2006, Blue Cross of Jamaica, an Independent Licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association , will be celebrating 50 years of providing accessible and affordable health insurance coverage to the people of Jamaica. More than 400,000 Jamaicans have chosen Blue Cross® as their health insurer, making it the largest company of its kind in the country.
Throughout the years, Blue Cross® has offered the most comprehensive range of products through the widest network of providers islandwide. Together with its members and health care providers, Blue Cross® continues to work assiduously towards expanding access to affordable health care for the majority of Jamaicans.
