KINGSTON , February 26, 2006- In a thanksgiving service scheduled to mark the start of year-long celebrations, Blue Cross of Jamaica Ltd. acknowledged the important feat of making it to 50 years in the health insurance business.
“I feel honoured to continue the work of the pioneer, our founder, Mr. Sydney Anderson, then Hospital Administrator for the University Hospital of the West Indies ,” said Prof. the Hon. Errol Morrison, President & CEO, Blue Cross of Jamaica. “He began the process that led to Jamaica 's introduction to what was to become the nation's largest health insurance provider,” said Prof. Morrison.
This year, Blue Cross of Jamaica Ltd. celebrates 50 years of providing accessible and affordable health coverage to the people of Jamaica . More than 400,000 Jamaicans have chosen Blue Cross® as their health insurer.
