The Environmental Health Foundation (EHF), is a non-for-profit organization founded in 1991 by members of the Blue Cross® Board and other private sector entities to enhance the image and recognition of Blue Cross of Jamaica Limited as a good corporate citizen. EHF is a parent company of Blue Cross of Jamaica Limited.
Blue Cross® provides grant funding to the EHF to undertake community-based
projects to promote health education and environmental activities. EHF has
an outstanding track record in the development and execution of these projects.
We take an active part in the entire project cycle, from conception to evaluation.
In this way we are able to bring in the wealth of knowledge and know-how available
in the Foundation as well as ensure that the resources are correctly utilized
and quality of performance maintained. Our core projects are in the areas of
health, environment and social development.
One such project, which began in 1995, addressed the problem of lead poisoning
in the community of Frazier's Content formerly Red Pond in St. Catherine. Other
